What cars are people looking at this year? If you’re thinking about getting a new car, it’s often useful or interesting to see what’s popular with other car buyers. Knowing the trends in the market can help you find a good deal on cars that are less popular, can help you determine which cars are amongst the best-rated, but also just satisfy your curiosity.
So we’ve compiled a list of the most searched for cars in 2022. Here’s what visitors to our vehicle search tool have been looking at so far this year.
The Dacia Sandero is one of the most affordable new cars on the market, so it’s no surprise to see visitors to our site searching for it. The Sandero’s low price is no frills, but what you do get is a solid all-rounder that belies its low price.
The Hyundai i10 is next on our list. The Hyundai ‘i’ range of cars were consistently voted amongst the best in their class, and the i10 is seen as one of the better small city cars on the market. Very reliable and cheap to run, it’s a great choice for small families or those who don’t have long commutes.
While the Golf has the most street cred, the Volkswagen Polo has a lot of the same qualities in a slightly smaller package.
A name you might not have heard before, the Suzuki Celerio maximises the space in its small stature to provide a city car that can happily take a growing family around town for their day-to-day duties.
Electric cars have been increasing in popularity over the years, but it’s taken a while for them to start hitting the used car market. With more options available, this could be a sign that the Leaf is becoming less attractive or that people are upgrading to other models. Either way, the Leaf is one of the better small electric cars on the market.
Finally, we have one of the most consistently popular cars on the UK market, the Ford Focus. The ultimate all-rounder, its popularity is well earned thanks to the excellent drive, comfy ride and smart use of interior space.
A look at the list shows that smaller cars are much more popular than other years, where the BMW 3 Series, Nissan Qashqai and Vauxhall Insignia have all been amongst the most popular. This could be down to two things.
Smaller cars are cheaper to run. Not just on fuel (although this is a particularly strong concern at the moment), but on insurance, tax and maintenance. The second reason could be down to changes in how we work. If you are no longer having to drive a long commute, then maybe you don’t need as big a car as you’ve been using.
Whatever the reason behind the change in focus, it’s down to you to decide what car best fits your need. If in doubt, why not ask one of the customer consultants at Creditplus to see what recommendations and deals they can find for you?
