It won’t be long before 2018 draws to a close and we make way for 2019. And to round off the year, we’ve decided to take a look back at the 10 most popular cars we’ve financed throughout 2018 and examine the qualities which have earned each of them their place in the list. So, without further ado, lets start at the bottom of the list at number 10.

10. Volkswagen Golf

The original ‘boy racer hatchback’, the Volkswagen Golf. Back in the nineties, the Golf was deeply respected among boy racers of the time. However, nearly twenty years on, the Golf has established itself as a strong contestant among the family cars thanks to its comfort and space, combined with its reliable performance. On top of this, the Golf has great fuel economy with low running costs, which justifies why it’s more expensive to buy than some of its rivals.

9. Mercedes C-Class

The Mercedes C-Class sits at number nine. It’s high-tech features and glossy interior, combined with its practicality is what makes this car so desirable among our customers. When it comes to safety, the C-Class has a range of protective features to help prevent a collision, so you can feel comfortable knowing your loved ones are well protected. And although the C-Class isn’t the cheapest option on the market, it’s definitely a car that demonstrates its value.

8. Vauxhall Corsa

At number eight we have the Vauxhall Corsa. It’s small and nippy, but still spacious enough to meet the requirements of a good family car, with generous space in the back and a decent sized boot. It’s practicality, and the fact that it’s cheap to buy is another reason why the Corsa is such a popular choice for families.

7. Nissan Juke

Let’s be honest, it wouldn’t be a sensible top 10 without at least one Nissan. First renowned for the classic Micra, Nissan have come a long way to produce something as quirky and stylish as the Juke, which has proved to be particularly appealing to younger generations. The Juke trumps its rivals when it comes to holding its value, and because PCP loan agreements consider the depreciation of the vehicle over the course of the loan term, the Nissan Jukes is a smart, cost-effective option if you’re looking to take out a finance agreement.

6. Ford Fiesta

My grandad would be happy to see the beloved Fiesta still rocking with today’s generation. Made popular over 40 years ago the Fiesta was a classic of its time, and it doesn’t look like it will be declining any time soon. The Fiesta is great fun to drive, and due to its size, is ideal for zipping up and down those tight urban roads. 5. BMW 3 Series

The BMW 3 series has been another popular choice among our customers this year, due to its sporty looks and fantastic driving experience. 4. Vauxhall Insignia

Our fourth most popular vehicle is the Vauxhall Insignia. The Insignia is great on price, with stylish looks and a desirably large boot. Another winning quality is the efficiency of the diesel engines, meaning cheaper running costs, and their cO2 emissions are among the lowest levels compared with other diesel rivals.

3. The Nissan Qashqai

The Nissan Qashqai was one of the first family SUVs to enter the market back in 2007, and although it now has several strong rivals to contend with, the Qashqai is the most popular SUV we’ve financed this year and comes in at an overall third on our list. The Qashqai is a comfortable, smooth and quiet drive, making it a great choice for a family vehicle.

2. Ford Focus

In close second is the Ford Focus, which follows in the footsteps of its great ancestor, the Escort. Like Escort, the Focus is a great family car with excellent reliability and has continued to impress throughout each generation. Its' spacious interior is among the best of its rivals and combined with great handling and a competitive price, the Focus is a deserving favourite.

1. Vauxhall Corsa 

Finally, at the very top of the list is the Vauxhall Astra. A fantastic all-rounder with great reliability, it’s not surprising the Vauxhall Astra has been the top choice among our customers this year. The Astra ticks all the boxes when it comes to a family car combining style, comfort and practicality. Add to this it’s smooth handling, cheap running costs and 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, it’s safe to say the Astra is certainly one of the best in its' class and is certainly a worthy winner of our top 10 cars.
