Price

We find that the Vauxhall Insignia is most popular amongst our customers who are looking for a car that is economic, but does not sacrifice that all important performance. The Insignia can be a very affordable car to buy and own, whether new or used. Insurance groups favour the car, and repairs and servicing tends to be fairly cheap. To save the most money, we recommend the diesel engine, capable of 76.3mpg.

Reliability

Whilst the Insignia’s predecessor, the Vectra, was distinctly average in terms of reliability, Vauxhall have actively aimed to address this issue with the Insignia. It has subsequently been built to a much higher standard, and as yet, no major issues have been highlighted with the car. Vauxhall offer a 3 year warranty, so any cars from 2011 onwards will still be eligible for a time, meaning that in most circumstances, if anything goes wrong, Vauxhall have got it covered.

Fuel Consumption

The Vauxhall Insignia 2.0 CDTi Sri NAV is our bestselling Insignia model – and the fuel economy that it offers is the best in the range, boasting an impressive 76.3mpg mpg (average).

Safety

The Vauxhall Insignia was awarded the highest safety rating of 5 stars from the Euro NCAP for adults and 4 stars from children, matching its main rival, the Ford Mondeo. Every car comes equipped with six air bags, anti-lock brakes, Isofix child seat anchor points, an electronic stability programme, traction control and three point seatbelts as standard. The 2013 update to the Insignia has both improved the current safety features and added extras to further improve safety in the car. Innovative features such as headlights which turn in the direction of travel mean that adverse weather conditions are accounted for. These, amongst a succession of other inspired safety features that go beyond the usual expectations, make the Insignia a car that you can have confidence in.

Comfort

The Vauxhall Insignia is a relatively comfortable ride, with plenty of room in both the front and back, all seats other than the middle back suitable for adults, with plenty of head and leg room. Updates to the Insignia in 2013 made the engine quieter and the ride smoother thanks to an improved suspension system.

The large boot should suit the needs of most families and for the driver the seat and controls are highly adjustable, great for long motorway drives and commutes.
