If you’re looking for car finance, you want more than just the best deal. But what’s more important than saving money?

We believe you should look for a company that focuses strongly on its customer’s well-being, provides fair financial advice, and operates honestly and transparently. They sound like the best people to assist you on your car finance buying journey, don’t they?

Well here’s the good news: that’s exactly what we here at Creditplus do for all of our customers.

In case you didn’t know, Creditplus are ethical lenders, and have strived to be from the day the company doors opened back in 2004. So what does this mean for you, the customer? Amongst other things, it means you’ll be treated fairly throughout your relationship with us, and that you’ll have a dedicated member of our highly experienced and knowledgeable team to speak to should you have any questions or concerns. In short, you can put your trust in us to listen, advise and support you. And to help cement this, we’ve outlined the key elements of our Ethical Lending policy below.

We perform ‘Soft’ credit searches

Applying for any type of finance results in credit searches being performed on your credit file. We recognised early on that these searches can have a negative impact on your file, so we have focused our attention on performing ‘soft’ searches when customers apply for car finance with us. These searches are light-touch, and don’t leave a footprint on your credit file, unlike if you were applying directly through a lender. Out of everything we do here at Creditplus, this is our key focus on being ethical lenders. Read more about our soft credit searches.

We treat all customers fairly

Trust is something we all need to earn and to continue doing business successfully, and we believe that treating customers fairly is the key foundation to any ethical business. We’re regulated by the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority), which regulates the UK’s financial services industry, and they ensure that we comply with the regulations they set out.

For finance car loans, each customer automatically has a 14 day cooling off period; the customer is entitled to change their mind and cancel the deal after the loan has been provided within this period,  so long as the funds have been returned. In line with the Supply of Goods Act (for cars), customers now have a 30 day period in which they’re allowed to request their car to be repaired if there are any faults. This is for customers who choose to use our Find, Fund & Deliver service and comes with zero cost to the customer, provided that they did not cause the reported fault.

We assign you with your own dedicated Customer Advisor

All too often when dealing with a company, you’re passed around from person to person until you finally get the answer to your question. As customers ourselves, we know how frustrating this can be, so for customers opting for our Find, Fund & Deliver service, they’ll be assigned their own dedicated Customer Advisor who’ll be with them every step of the way in their car finance buying journey. They’re experts in their field and have an extensive resource of reputable sources for new and used cars.

We adhere to the Data Protection Act

The Data Protection Act is in place to protect your personal information and how it’s used by organisations, businesses or the Government. It’s also at the centre of any ethical business. At Creditplus we ensure we adhere to the regulations set out by the law; we keep your information safe and secure and don’t keep it for any longer than we need to.

We aim to be a company that you can trust. With all of these key elements – as well as our honesty and transparency – we believe that we’re top of the class when it comes to being ethical lenders. To find out more, read our Ethical Lending policy.
