There’s good news for those wanting to go green, with rumours of a PHEV version also being released.

BMW iX1

The BMW X1 has been one of the most stylish SUVs in the market, so it’s good to see that an electric version is on the way. The BMW iX1 retains all the looks, but packs in a 282bhp electric engine with a range of over 200 miles. Rapid charge technology is also on the cars with 80% charge in 30 minutes.

Citroen Ami

One of the more fascinating vehicles hitting the road next year is the Citroen Ami. This electric car has a lot in common with the Renault Twizy, in terms of size and quirkiness. Designed for short trips around the city, the car has a top speed of 30mph and a range of 48 miles. But the key selling point is that prices will start from £6,000. So if a city car is all you need, this could be an ideal option.

Dacia Jogger

Dacia will be adding another fantastically affordable car to the market with their Dacia Jogger. Available from just £15,000, the seven-seater is short on thrills and frills, but, if it’s like the other Dacia models on the market, it will be a fantastic option for a budget family vehicle.

Fiat Panda

A fancy new update for one of Fiat’s oldest models, the Fiat Panda is designed to be a more rugged companion to the iconic 500. With a low price of £11,000, expect a surprising car to look at that won’t leave too big a dent in your pocket.

Mercedes EQE

Designed to rival the upmarket electric cars of Tesla, the Mercedes EQE has a powerful battery cell that can give it a range of 410 miles. Add to that the stylish looks and interior that you expect from a Mercedes, and you have an exciting new addition to the EV market.

Polestar 3

A new addition from this upstart car company, the Polestar 3 is an all-electric SUV that’s designed to rival other premium EV models from Jaguar and Mercedes. A range of 310 miles on a single charge is huge, and it’s smart infotainment system makes it feel like a car form the future.

Skoda Fabia

Our final choice for 2022 is another fantastic vehicle from Skoda. The new version of the Skoda Fabia has a larger boot, better range of engines to choose from, and an updated design. It may not be as fancy as the new Mercs and Ferraris, but it’s going to be an excellent choice.
