The disruption of 2020 has meant many car companies have postponed their big releases until this new year. And while the world continues to recover from the global pandemic, the roll-out of vaccinations has many of us and the big car makers hoping things will be back to normal before too soon. 

So what new cars are on their way in 2021? Here’s our selection of the best new models coming onto the market this year.

BMW 2 Series Coupe

The 3 series is immensely popular with customers at Creditplus, but this new iteration of the BMW 2 Series is going to be a big challenger. Rear-wheel drive makes it feel powerful to drive, and both the interior and exterior has had a massive makeover. It’s going to be a popular choice for any modern professional.

Dacia Spring

Primarily known for their low cost, Dacia are making a big foray into the electric vehicle market with their Dacia Spring. Based on the Renault Kwid that’s available in the Asian market, rumours are that this model will have an impressive 124 mile range.

Hyundai i20

Hyundai are coming for the Ford Fiesta’s crown as best small family car with their latest update to the i20. It’s had a big overhaul in terms of appearance, and now comes with some hybrid power, new safety features, and increased boot space.

Jaguar E-Pace

This hybrid version of the Jaguar F-Pace is not too far behind the original version. But with sales not reaching the targets they hoped for. The new version is rumoured to have the 1.5 litre plug-in engine from the Land Rover Discovery Sport PHEV, and an impressive 200mpg.

Mercedes EQB

Another electric vehicle from a prestige company, the Mercedes EQB is their new compact SUV model that comes with twin electric motors to give more power and range. It will have some design tweaks to help distinguish itself from the normal engine cars.

Nissan Qashqai

Once the most popular medium-sized family car in the UK, the Qashqai has seen almost every other car company come up with a rival. So the third generation that’s released this year has a lot more competition. The biggest change is to the look, with a much sleeker, slightly edgier appearance than others. It’s also only available as a hybrid, meaning you’ll get a greener family car.

Tesla Model Y

While it looks a lot like the Model S, the Tesla Model Y has been designed to be bigger and better. You can seat up to 7 people in this model, and the range is huge – up to 314 miles! Supercharger stations have also been optimised, so you can recharge 168 miles of range in just 15 minutes. An SUV for the electric generation.

Vauxhall Astra

This year also sees the Astra get an update. Vauxhall was recently purchased by the PSA Group, and the new model now shares a lot of parts and components with the Peugeot 308. The new update gives the car a flash futuristic look that is a big change from the previous models.
