That’s right it’s that time of year again. Valentine’s day always generates mixed reactions among us, with some going all out on extravagant gifts and surprise holidays, while others sigh and roll their eyes and tell everyone Valentine’s day is overly commercialised and just another example of how retailers trick you into spending more money - FYI, these people are usually single!

But instead of the old cliché “chocolate and flowers”, why not impress your date with something else this Valentine’s day? No, we’re not talking about that!

Why not forget the presents and use the money to rock up to your date in a new car? We promise you - your date will LOVE it.

1. Aston Martin DB5

Arguably one of the most iconic car brands of all time, and they still appear to be getting cooler as the years go by! It shot to fame following its first appearance in the James Bond series ‘Goldfinger’, in 1964 and went on to appear in six more Bond films including Skyfall, which was released almost 50 years later.

Yes, you may struggle to get your hands on one of these now, but just imagine if you rocked up to your date in James Bond’s car! You are pretty much guaranteed to win over your date. Afterall, James Bond certainly gets all the ladies, although I think we can agree that wasn’t just down to the car he drove…

And if it’s a man’s heart you’re trying to win over, it’s fair to say men would be just as impressed by a DB5, if not more!

2. Volkswagen Camper

These campers just ooze coolness, and if you own one of these it implies, you’re a fun, outdoorsy type with a strong sense of adventure.

Why not stick a surf board on top for added effect? Ok, so you don’t actually know how to surf, but as long as you’re not planning on taking your date to the beach then what difference does it make? Let them draw their own conclusions, it’s not your fault!

Ok so it’s not actually a car and it may be a little on the expensive side, but if you’re looking to impress then sometimes you have to go the extra mile. And in this scenario, you’ll be sailing that extra mile in a super yacht! Who wouldn’t say yes to a romantic evening watching the sunset while floating across the water? Put up some fairy lights for added ambience, get some champagne on board and you’re all set.

Alternatively, if you’re not a squillionaire why not try an amphibious car. That way you can take your date out on a romantic cruise straight after your Wetherspoons.

7. Ducati Panigale V4

Thrilling, exhilarating, powerful. If your Panigale V4 can deliver these qualities, then surely you can too right? This mighty Italian motorcycle comes with a four-cylinder engine that kicks out an obscene amount of power for maximum exhilaration. So, if your date is an adrenaline junky, they will certainly be wanting a ride on the back of this rocket ship.
